When Penn State student Ana Isabel de la Fuente’s fellowship led her to tackle materials science research problems at another university last summer, she stumbled upon an entirely different problem to solve.

Students, including two teams advised by Allen Kimel, associate teaching professor of materials science and engineering, displayed their capstone design projects at the College of Engineering's spring 2019 Capstone Design Project Showcase.

The Institute for CyberScience (ICS) announced 16 projects that are being funded through the 2019 ICS Seed Grant Program. The awards, ranging from nearly $3,000 to $35,000, will support researchers in more than 20 departments and units, 10 colleges and three institutes.
