Dr. Peyman Asghari-Rad earned his Ph.D. in 2022 from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea. His research is distinguished by his work on high-entropy alloy development for extreme environments, high-temperature superplasticity in metals, phase transformations, and advanced materials characterization techniques. Since joining PSU in 2022, Dr. Asghari-Rad has made significant contributions to the field of molten salt electrochemistry, particularly in the development of cost-effective electrolytes for liquid metal batteries. His investigations have encompassed the thermodynamic and electrochemical properties of chromium species in molten LiCl-KCl electrolytes, the corrosion mechanisms of Ni-Cr alloys, and the development of novel oxygen-evolving anodes for decarbonization, addressing critical environmental issues.
